Precautions
Before taking this medicine, make an appointment with your doctor if you: Have heartburn, heartburn after 4 hours or greater than 4 hours; have high blood pressure, heart failure, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, have had high blood sugar, or have kidney or liver disease. Avoid taking proton pump medicine or esomeprazole if you have been diagnosed with acid reflux, gastro-oesophageal reflus or signs of an ulcer. Discuss your symptoms with a doctor.
Side Effects
The most common side effects of this medicine include diarrhea, nausea, and flatulence, difficulty in passing urine, and vomiting.
More serious side effects include sudden vision loss in one or both eyes, or loss of hearing, seizures, chest pain, or irregular heart beats; rare but possible allergic reaction to this drug. If you experience any symptoms of an allergic reaction, stop taking and see your doctor immediately. The signs of an allergic reaction include a rash, itching or hives, swelling of the face or throat, shortness of breath, and difficulty breathing.
Pregnancy and breast-feeding. Contains gelatin. Always consult your doctor before taking other medicines or treatments for heartburn and other symptoms of an allergic reaction. This product is for use only as prescribed and instructed.
